Text captured from your screen for translation never leaves your device.

Collected data

Currently, the following data is collected:

1. Via developer's infrastructure directly.
   This data is used exclusively for the developer's intellectual property protection.
   • App activation event (when you open the app after an update or installation)
2. Via Sentry. Privacy policy
   This data is used exclusively for development and stored for no longer than 30 days.
   • Error and crash reports with stack traces.
   • Basic usage statistics, including app verification, service stop.
3. Via Google Analytics 4. Privacy policy, copy
   This data is used for the development and optimization of the app's own marketing.
   • Usage statistics, such as for how long you use the app, its services and incorporated features.
   • Marketing data, such as the link you used to download the app (for example, from the website or search on Google Play), intent for sharing the app itself.

By default, these reports are associated only with your device info, which may help diagnose problems, such as device model, Android version, available storage, and battery level.

If and only if you specify your name in the app on the About page, technical reports are also associated with them. Specifying them gives your consent to contacting you.

All collected data is intended for use by the 1st party only and never shared with other 3rd parties or sold.

Screenshot translation

This feature allows you to open a screenshot in an external third-party app (supported apps: Google Lens, Yandex Translate, Microsoft Translator, DeepL, Papago). The handling of the screenshot by these apps is governed by their respective privacy policies and is not covered by this document. Since these apps are already installed on your device, it is assumed that you have accepted their terms.

Data deletion request

You can explicitly request data deletion. Include your identifiers from the bottom of the About page of the app and send the request in free form to support@screentranslate.app.

Privacy Policy changes

This document is subject to change. Possible upcoming changes:

• Sharing text with Google Translate service for better translation. This feature will have to be explicitly enabled by you.

The Privacy Policy included in the app is valid when using the most recent version from Google Play. When using an outdated version, superseding Privacy Policy may be published at screentranslate.app/privacy-policy.
